After more than a century of projecting light through film to produce moving pictures, technology has changed the movie theater industry. The CAMEO has shown movies on 35mm film projectors since we opened in 2000. But in 2013, all main releases will be available only in the Digital Cinema format. So, if we want to continue to show the quality films you have come to expect, we will have to show them on Digital Cinema projectors. We must convert or close our doors...

Our goal is to install Digital Cinema projectors in both of our auditoriums by the first quarter of 2013. Converting both projection booths at the same time makes more sense from a practical standpoint (less down time) and also an economical standpoint.
The expense to convert both projection booths is steep. Between the necessary equipment & projection room modifications, we need approx. $100,000 per screen. Small independent theaters do not have the ability to finance this major capital expenditure out of annual earnings.
