INTRODUCING CAMEO COLLECTIVE
A NEW NONPROFIT ERA
After 25 remarkable years as a cultural cornerstone in downtown Fayetteville, the iconic Cameo Art House Theatre is embarking on an exciting transformation. We are proud to announce the formation of CAMEO COLLECTIVE, a nonprofit organization created to preserve the Cameo’s legacy and expand its role in our community.
This transition honors the incredible vision of founders Chris and Nasim Kuenzel, along with Eric Lindstrom, who brought independent cinema and cultural vibrancy to Fayetteville in 2000. Through their dedication, the Cameo became a beloved gathering place and an enduring symbol of artistic life in our city.
Now, with the guidance of Artistic Director Brian Adam Kline and a board of local artists, advocates, and business owners, CAMEO Collective is working to transition the Cameo into a nonprofit, community-led arts hub. This new structure will allow us to broaden our mission beyond independent film to include live performances, educational programs, visual arts, and special events—all while staying true to the theater’s roots.
We need your help to make this vision a reality. With the support of donors, patrons, and community partners, the Cameo can continue to thrive for generations to come. Join us in shaping the future of this treasured space—together.
WHAT TO EXPECT
INCLUSIVE, ACCESSIBLE, AND POWERED BY YOU
Expanded Programming: The CAMEO will not only continue to show independent and studio films but will also host an array of live performances, including comedy shows, theater productions, and live music. We will also offer visual art exhibitions, cultural events, and workshops.
Community Ownership and Input: The CAMEO will be run by a passionate team of staff, volunteers in the Arts, including Artistic Director Brian Adam Kline and its Board of Directors of community leaders. By becoming a non-profit, we’ll also be able to involve the community more directly in decision-making through volunteer opportunities and feedback on our programming.
Increased Accessibility: With our non-profit status, we can apply for grants, offer more affordable ticket pricing, and provide educational programs to underserved communities. Our mission is to make the arts accessible to everyone, regardless of background or economic means.
